ABOUT THE ACADEMY
Bookkeeping, taught at the next desk.
TPG Training Academy teaches the bookkeeping a UK small business runs on: double entry, bank reconciliation, VAT, payroll and pensions, self assessment and the year-end. Every course is a set of recorded lessons, streamed online.
We teach in recorded lessons because most of bookkeeping is someone posting an entry and explaining why. That works better when you control the pace: you pause before the answer, try it yourself, and rewind when the reason goes past too quickly. Nobody waits for you, and you never wait for anybody.

Why it is built this way
A bookkeeping course is only as good as its examples. So each course takes one business, gives it a year of ordinary transactions and works through them in order. By the end you have seen the same accounts move from the first sale to the last adjustment, and the figures make sense because you watched them arrive.
Tax rules change every April, so the lessons that deal with tax say which tax year they teach. The courses explain how things work; they do not tell you what to do about your own return. For that, an accountant who knows your business is the right person to ask.
We are based in the City of London. The company was registered in 2025 and does one thing: recorded courses in UK bookkeeping, VAT, payroll and year-end accounts.
Four principles
-
FOLIO
Plain words first
Every term is explained in ordinary English before it is used. Debit and credit are introduced as left and right, not as good and bad.
-
FOLIO
One business followed through
Each course follows one business through its transactions, so the figures build on each other instead of starting again with every example.
-
FOLIO
Every figure worked on screen
No step is left as an exercise for the reader. Whatever you are asked to post, you then see posted and explained, line by line.

FOLIO
Say what a course is not
Recorded and streamed only; no tutor, no marking, no certificate. Tax lessons teach a stated tax year and are education, not advice for your situation.
Ask before you buy.
Not sure a course covers what you need? Ask us. A person answers, by chat or by email.
