§1 Our approach

A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to keep and send back on later visits. We use no analytics or advertising cookies, and nothing on this site tracks you across other websites. Reading pages and browsing the courses sets no cookie at all.

Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, cookies that are strictly necessary for a service you ask for do not need your consent, so we do not show a cookie banner. The one cookie that is not strictly necessary is set only when you tick a box asking for it, and that tick is your consent.

§2 The cookies we set

All of these are set by tpg-training-academy.co.uk itself, are sent only over this site and cannot be read by scripts on the page.

Cookies set by this site
NamePurposeDurationType
PHPSESSID Keeps your cart and protects the checkout form. Set only once you add a course to your cart or open the checkout. Ends when you close your browser Strictly necessary
supchat_v Keeps your conversation with us, so that you see our replies and earlier messages. Set only when you send your first chat message. 1 year Strictly necessary for the chat you start
buyer Remembers your checkout details on this device for your next purchase. Set only if you tick “Remember these details” at checkout. 180 days Only with your consent
supchat_k Keeps our staff signed in to the support desk. Staff only: it is never set for customers. 1 year Strictly necessary

§3 Other requests to third parties

To draw our pages, your browser fetches some files straight from other services. We set no cookies for them, but each one receives your IP address and the browser details that come with any web request:

  • Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com), for the typefaces used on the site;
  • a stock-photo content delivery network (images.pexels.com), for the photographs;
  • a content delivery network for open-source files (cdn.jsdelivr.net), for the payment-method icons at the foot of each page.

More on how we handle personal data is in our Privacy Policy.

§4 Controlling cookies

Every browser lets you see, block and delete cookies, usually under its privacy or site-data settings. If you block or delete ours, the site still opens, but:

  • without PHPSESSID your cart is emptied and the checkout cannot be completed;
  • without supchat_v the chat no longer shows your earlier conversation on that device;
  • without buyer you type your checkout details again. You can also remove it with the “Forget my details” link on the checkout.
